The invitation, in the form of a leaflet, has not reached François Bayrou. However, this is his “starting pot” that was discussed this Monday at the end of the day, after the vote of trust. The French were called upon to meet in front of all the town halls to “celebrate the fall” of the Prime Minister. At the origin of this little jumping, the outfit of which was hardly in doubt: the supporters of the “block everything” movement.

On Monday evening, it was less question of “blocking” than celebrating the announced failure of the head of government, whose draft budget has so much tense. The posters broadcast on social networks and encrypted messaging also set the tone, showing a François Bayrou, wearing a pointed hat, cut of champagne in hand. Reminiscence of mobilization against pension reform: a concert of pans was even announced in places.

There is no crowd

In Paris, in front of the town hall, there were few at 8 pm to say “bye Bye Bayrou”, with the exception … CRS. Agnès was the first, with a group of activists close to rebellious France, to bring a toast to the resignation of the Prime Minister. “It makes me immensely happy, even if I don’t know who will replace it,” she admits, a cardboard cup in hand.

As the movement which plans to “block everything” on September 10 is not structured, to meet, it is also an opportunity to “prepare”, slides his comrade, Patricia. Among the dozens of “starting pots” scheduled for Monday evening at the four corners of France, many were also those to be followed by an “GA” (General Assembly).

“Give yourself strength for what awaits us”

On the eve of the mobilizations, the time is still for the organization. On the discussion channels, we always debate the most effective means of action, but we are also preparing for “repression”. At the Parisian rally, Patrick assures that he will “participate in one way or another”, but does not yet know how. Emma and Maxime, two young people who live in the Paris region, plan to “strike and participate in actions”, such as “the blocking of major axes”.

This Monday evening, “we plan to celebrate the little victory that we have and give strength for what awaits us,” adds Emma. For the young woman, the post-bayrou opens a period with “a lot of uncertainties”. Like her, Patricia “does not trust [son] President “and would like to resign. “It’s going to be the dog,” predicts Olivier, who says he is “tired”. The hangover will not have long. At 9 p.m., the place had already emptied.
