“Highest temperatures 29 to 33 °C, in southern Moravia up to 35 °C. Weak south-easterly or variable wind up to 4 m/s, in the central part of the territory a moderate wind of 3 to 6 m/s.” meteorologists report on their website.
With the high temperature, we can also expect increased cloudiness, showers and thunderstorms. Especially in the west and southwest. A severe heat warning is in effect until Friday.
“The newly issued warning adds to this afternoon and evening (September 3) a warning of strong thunderstorms, which may occasionally occur in the southwestern half of Bohemia, and regulates the territorial and temporal validity of the high temperature warning. The warning against the danger of fires starting and spreading remains unchanged,” meteorologists said on Facebook.
“Today (September 3) and tomorrow (September 4) afternoon, temperatures will exceed 31°C in most of our area. It will be colder in the west and south-west of Bohemia today,” they noted.
“This afternoon and evening, isolated thunderstorms may form, especially in the mountains, which may be strong in the southwestern half of Bohemia. The storms will be very local and will be accompanied by precipitation totals of around 30 mm, in repeated storms even more, and hail up to 2 cm. Strong gusts of wind should be rare,” meteorologists warned.
Experts also expect up to 34 °C on Wednesday, especially in southern Moravia. In the rest of the territory, 28 to 32 °C is expected. Occasional showers and thunderstorms should occur. Nothing will change on Thursday and Friday, when temperatures will still be around 31 °C.
