After a first winter offensive, Occitanie should experience an alternation of light rains, strong winds, and a short-term mild spell before the return of cold weather. On the sky side, the light should gradually return.
According to Weather Languedoc“With these little rains, temperatures will rise thanks to a mild spell. Redoux which will remain relative and temporary“This Monday, an attenuated disturbance will cross Hérault and Gard, bringing some light precipitation.”So we are going to have a new disruption on Monday to start the week. It will remain attenuated with light rains“, the regional bulletin further specifies. But this gentler parenthesis will be short-lived.
From Tuesday, the cold air should regain ground from the north. Météo Languedoc evokes “some possible snowfall in Lozère or the Pyrenees “, with a few centimeters possible especially in the north of Lozère, from 700 to 800 meters. The Weather Channel confirms this deterioration and announces that “precipitation continues in the form of heavy showers, over the Pyrenees, the north of the Alps and the Jura“. At altitude, the rain-snow limit will drop significantly, with an increased risk of avalanches in the massifs further north, even if these sectors do not directly concern the region.
On Wednesday, the sky should clear. The mistral and the tramontane will rise sharply and will bring cold air over the region. Weather Languedoc describes a feelingvery wintery” with temperatures which will fall below seasonal averages. This wind, sometimes violent in the Rhône Valley and in Aude, will persist on Thursday. The day will be sunny over a good part of Languedoc-Roussillon, but the Lozerian reliefs could retain some grayness. The wind will limit the rise in mercury in the afternoon. “The frost will return as soon as the wind calms down at the end of the week“, according to Météo Languedoc.
Météo-France anticipates on his side “an improvement for the second part of the week with the return of anticyclonic conditions“, while specifying that the temperatures will remain”still low for the season“. The dry cold could therefore settle in for a long time, while waiting for a possible change in the weather at the beginning of December, which is still uncertain.
