At the start of next week Italy will find itself torn between two opposite meteorological figures: on the one hand one low pressure (cyclone) located between the Iberian Peninsula and the British Isles which will drive humid and unstable air masses towards the Mediterranean basin, on the other theAfrican anticyclone. Precisely on the border between these two figures, on that imaginary line of demarcation between the two fronts, the atmosphere will “boil”, ready to unleash even intense meteorological events, such as hailstorms or storms.

The latest forecast updates have confirmed conditions of extreme instability for the day Wednesday 1 MayLabor Day, with particularly strong phenomena and risk of hail. Eyes focused above all on the North-West and on all the regions of the Center where we do not exclude the possibility of storms: in a few hours they could fall up to 80/100 mm of rain, that is, almost the entire quantity that usually falls in the entire month. Local showers are also expected on the southern Tyrrhenian side and, towards the evening, also on the Triveneto.

In short, a phase of looming bad weather over Italy with a high risk of extreme weather events due to the clash between different air masses that will battle over our country. In such a context we should also expect a general drop in temperatures, especially where precipitation will be most prevalent.
