At the same time, from Monday, very heavy snowfalls will be recorded in most mountainous areas of the country. As the meteorologist clarified, they will concern places that are above 900-1,000 meters.

At Christmas, temperatures will be lower than average for the season. As mentioned by Mr. Kallianos, “after many years maybe we will have a cold Christmas. Not intense, not extreme, but with temperatures that we have not been used to in recent years.” As he mentioned, tomorrow Saturday in Central Macedonia there will be a “fast snowfall above 400-500 meters very fast and it goes away, that’s why it is not worth mentioning”.

The temperature will drop by 5-6 degrees compared to the previous days. According to Mr. Kalliano, “we will have a maximum of 10 degrees in Northern Greece, in central and southern 13 to 14 degrees, in Crete 17-18 degrees”.

Mr. Kallianos emphasized that there is a possibility that there will be a ban on ships on Monday as winds of 7-8 Beaufort will be recorded on the seas. The meteorologist added that the bad weather that will start on Monday will be stronger than the one we will experience in the next few hours.

On Wednesday, December 25, local rains of light to moderate intensity are expected from the height of Attica and further south.

At the same time, Mr. Kallianos pointed out that there will be “express bad weather” until tomorrow Saturday, which has already started in Western Greece.

“Until tomorrow, the rains will at times occupy more areas of the country. During the day tomorrow they will be generalized. In places mainly in Western Greece, in the Western Peloponnese but also in the islands of the Eastern Aegean we will have intense storms. The weather will show a temporary improvement on Sunday”, he underlined.
