This year’s August (like June and July) was characterized by many consecutive long days positive deviations temperature and was the warmest August from the 2010 at North – Western Greece, at Ionian and in Peloponnese, with average monthly prices ranging up to +1.8 °C above normal levels for the season. In the other geographical divisions (with the exception of Thessaly 3rd warmest) was recorded as o 2nd warmest from the 2010 (remains as warmer o August of 2021).

The next graph shows the ranking of the month of August per yeardepending on the average monthly value of the maximum temperature. THE August 2024 it was a very warm month after very warm ones June and July 2024with the average prices for the month being approx 1°C above the second warmest (August 2021) in North & West Greece. Continuous positive deviations were noted across the country from beginning of the month by the end of the month, mostly in Northern Greece, Western Greece, Ionian and Peloponnese of the class of 6-8°C above normal levels for the season. Small negative deviations were noted only in its islands Aegean and Crete with its parallel prevalence of malt.
In Athens, the mean monthly maximum temperature deviation value was +1,2 °C, with 25 of the 31 days of the month being warmer than normal for the season. At Thessaloniki, 24 days of the month were warmer from the average value of the period 2010-2019, where the average maximum temperature of the month fluctuated +1.1 ºC above normal levels. At 60% of the 52 stations the 25 days (at least) from 31 of the month were warmer than normal.
