“This morning was again cold. The diameter of minimum temperatures from stations in lower and medium altitudes (up to 600 meters above sea level) was less than six degrees Celsius,” said CHMI. It was also freezing in the morning at other Šumava stations, in Březník and Rokytské Žati the temperature dropped to minus 3.9 degrees Celsius. Around minus three degrees, temperatures moved at three measuring stations in Kořenov in the Jizera Mountains, in the deer in the Ore Mountains the thermometer showed minus 2.5 degrees Celsius.
All 15 today’s lowest temperatures recorded for 26th August is above zero. In Broumov in the Náchod region measured 1.6 degrees Celsius, the previous record of 1980 there was 2.5 degrees. In Rýmařov in Bruntál today, 1.7 degrees rewrote a 45 -year -old minimum of 2.6 degrees Celsius. Karviná, Nový Bydžov in the Hradec Králové region, Čáslav in the Kutná Hora region, Vlašim in the Benešov region or Průhonice near Prague also have a new minimum.
Sunday morning was the coldest in the Czech Republic this summer, meteorologists also recorded a ground frost. Fourteen of the 169 stations measuring more than 30 years on that day rewritten the minimum in August, and a record for August 24 fell on about half.
