VIDEOS – Farmers’ demonstration in the Rhône: the A7 still cut, actions planned this evening

Farmers from Rhône, Loire, Haute-Loire, Isère and Ain are mobilizing this Monday, January 5, 2026 south of Lyon to protest against the management of the lumpy skin disease crisis, but also the proposed free trade agreement between Europe and South America. The A450 and M7 will be disrupted.

3:30 p.m.: “fires of anger” in the Rhône

The Young Farmers and FDSEA du Rhône unions will light “fires of anger” in the early evening.

From 6 p.m.farmers will meet in the communes of Brussieu (at the Pomérieux roundabout) and at Cailloux-sur-Fontaine (Activity Zone roundabout).

The two unions are organizing these actions on the sidelines of the blocking of the M7 south of Lyon.

They continue to denounce the agreement with Mercosur, the lack of compensation for breeders affected by lumpy skin disease or even the importation of products that do not meet European standards.

12:30 p.m.: farmers block part of the Reventin toll

South of Lyon, in Isère, farmers are also mobilized at the level of Reventin-Vaugris toll on the A7.

Half of the toll lanes are currently inaccessible, the other remains open to motorists.

11 a.m.: farmers present on the M7

The farmers stopped at the height of Oullins-Pierre-Bénitesouth of Lyon, on the M7. The highway is blocked in both directions of traffic.

The convoy of around twenty tractors arrived at the junction between the A450 and the M7 at Oullins-Pierre-Bénite.

The convoy of around a hundred tractors left Vourles, heading towards Brignais via the A450, then Oullins-Pierre-Bénite via the M7. They will then take position in front of the Arkéma headquarters.
