The Rhône department will move to yellow heatwave alert at midday.
Summer has not yet said its last word. A heat wave began in the middle of the week in France. The Rhône is not immune to the rise in mercury with 34.4°C recorded this Wednesday at the Lyon Bron station.
It will continue to be hot this Thursday with the 35°C mark expected to be crossed in the Lyon metropolitan area. This is also the reason why Météo France has decided to place the Rhône department on yellow heatwave alert starting at 12 noon.
The thermometer will not drop before the end of the weekend, when we are still expecting 34°C this Saturday and then 33°C this Sunday. We will have to wait until the middle of next week to see some cool weather… and rain.
