In Vénissieux, it will be up to Pascal Dureau to wear the colors of Renaissance and the Republicans for the 2026 municipal elections.

Blessed bread for Quentin Taïeb (UDR supported by the RN), who, in a viral video on social networks, put an old controversy back on the table.

He thus recalled that in 2020, Pascal Dureau’s list included the name of Mounir Grami. However, the latter had already made a name for himself in 2012, for having been nominated by the Anti-Zionist Party during the legislative elections, before finally being registered as a non-member.

This is not the first time that Mounir Grami has joined a right-wing candidate, since he had supported Christophe Girard for the second round of the Venice municipal elections in 2014.

Called into question, Pascal Dureau and Mounir Grami responded. The first by press release, the second on his blog.

The candidate for the 2026 municipal elections castigated attacks “coming from people claiming to belong to the National Rally, who seek to smear and divide”.

Today close to France Insoumise, Mounir Grami for his part believes that he has no “no lessons to be learned from Quentin Taïeb, the racist and now Zionist far-right candidate. I am, however, at his disposal for a political debate whenever and wherever he wants! (…) I challenge anyone to find racist, anti-Semitic or xenophobic remarks in my speeches! Denouncing Israeli policy is not attacking a religion, that’s enough manipulation”.
