The sky will be sunny across almost the entire country on Wednesday, August 28, with temperatures between 30 and 34°C in many cities. However, thunderstorms could break out over the mountains.
Summer is still here. Temperatures will remain high and skies will be sunny across much of the country, reports Météo-France this Wednesday, August 28. Between 26 and 33°C are expected “in general”, explains the agency, which announces peaks at 34°C in places.
It will be 34°C in Lyon and Montélimar, 33°C in Toulouse and Clermont, 32°C in Ajaccio and Marseille. The 30°C mark will also be crossed in Lille, Bordeaux, Rennes and Perpignan. Temperatures will be high from this morning, with 25°C in Nice, 20°C in Montpellier, 14°C in Strasbourg, 19°C in Biarritz, 17°C in Bordeaux and 18°C in Toulouse.
In Paris, where the opening ceremony of the Paralympic Games will be held on the Place de la Concorde in the evening, the sky will be sunny. By the time the athletes parade on the Champs-Elysées, it will be around 29°C.
Some storms over the mountains
In the morning, beautiful clearings will prevail in the morning over a large part of the country. In the south of Aquitaine, low clouds will be present at the start of the day, but will dissipate over the hours.
“On the tip of Brittany, the weather is more gloomy,” notes Météo-France, which anticipates light rain during the day. It will only be 20°C in Brest in the afternoon, according to the agency’s forecasts.
In addition to the precipitation, thunderstorms are “also expected in the eastern Pyrenees, the southern Alps and the Corsican relief in the afternoon”, warns Météo-France, which specifies that showers could hit Provence. Finally, in the first part of the night, thunderstorms could break out in the Basque country.
