IN the midst of the sparkling night of the city of Lloret de Mar, Spain, cheers of victory echoed throughout the arena of the 2025 Super Grand Prix International Contest. When the clock struck 02.00 WIB, the happy news was announced: the Al Bayan Superior Islamic Boarding School Cultural Mission Team had succeeded in winning the gold medal as well as the overall champion trophy, making Indonesia proud on the world stage.

Shouts of joy, tears of emotion, and even prostrations of gratitude colored the stage of victory. Their stunning performance of the Saman Dance from Aceh which was full of unity and the soft and harmonious Angklung music of West Java, succeeded in conquering the hearts of international judges and audiences from various countries.

Prestigious Event for the World of Arts and Culture

The Super Grand Prix is known as a prestigious cultural stage held annually by the Royal Spanish Government in the Costa Brava region, Catalonia. This year, the competition takes place from 22-27 October 2025 and becomes a forum for cultural exchange between nations.

Apart from competitions, this event also presents international master classes and workshops filled with world art experts. The teachers who passed the training even received official certificates from the Kingdom of Spain, indicating recognition of their increased competence in the field of performing arts.

The Long Struggle to the World Stage

More than 30 groups from various countries participated in this event, divided into competition and non-competitive festival categories. The Al Bayan High School team chose the competition route, preparing two superior works: the Saman Dance and the Angklung ensemble.

Before leaving for Spain, the students trained intensively with the Kinanthi Budaya Team, a collaboration between lecturers and art practitioners from Jakarta State University. In a short time, those who initially only knew the basics of traditional dance and music turned into professional performers. The result was a perfect performance that received the highest appreciation from the international jury.

Before departure, Heriyanto, Director of Education at the Al Bayan High School Foundation, advised all participants to carry an image of a nation that is polite and reflects a friendly Muslim personality. Meanwhile, Deden Ramdani, Principal of Al Bayan High School, emphasized the importance of the spirit of totality and the power of prayer.

And sure enough, that message became real on the world stage. Under the Red and White banner, the Al Bayan team, consisting of 27 class XI students, two accompanying teachers, an Angklung coach, a Saman Dance coach, and two officials, succeeded in making new history.

Making the Nation proud

This victory is not just trophies and medals. This is proof that hard work, discipline and prayer can bring Indonesia’s young generation to compete at the global level. From Lloret de Mar, their fighting spirit has become an inspiration for many students in the country.

In the euphoria of victory, one thing that remains is deep gratitude to Allah SWT, for the opportunity to raise the Red and White and present the nation’s good name on the international stage.
