Orange vigilance was lifted throughout France after the passage of a “rain-storing episode” with “intense electrical activity”

Météo-France lifted, Monday July 21 in the morning, the orange vigilance thunderstorms and rain flood. Seven departments in the Southeast had been placed in orange storms and eight in vigilance rain flood.

The meteorological agency had already lifted orange vigilance on Sunday evening on the departments of the northeast and center-east, affected in the afternoon by winds between 70 and 90 km/h, even more locally, hailstorms and a “Intense electrical activity”. A person died by falling from a scale in Saône-et-Loire.

The Alpes-de-Haute-Provence, the Hautes-Alpes, Drôme, Isère, Bouches-du-Rhône, Gard and Vaucluse remained on orange thunderstorms until 6 am on Monday. Alpine and southern departments had also been placed in orange rain-rude orange until 6 am.

“The pluvio-storm episode was accompanied as planned with strong accuracy of precipitation, hail, strong electrical activity and gusts of wind around 70 to 80 km/h”, Released Météo-France in its 6-hour bulletin on Monday.
