City Councilor for Economic Affairs Peter Hanke, President of Vienna Tourism: “If you want to get to know Vienna or deepen your knowledge, you have a knowledgeable companion in your pocket with ‘ivie’. More and more people are using the digital city guide to explore sights and insider tips off the beaten path. With ‘ivie’ we present the diversity of Vienna’s visitor economy, which can be found in the city’s numerous neighborhoods, and offer Vienna’s tourism institutions a broad stage. I warmly congratulate the WienTourismus team, who are constantly making their app more exciting, on breaking the barrier of one million downloads.”

Tourism director Norbert Kettner: “Digitalization is not an end in itself – it must benefit people. We are pursuing this approach significantly in the further development of our destination app ‘ivie’, which we are constantly adding new offers for guests and Viennese alike. The high level of popularity that ‘ivie’ has already achieved with one million downloads is both an award and a mission. In the future, we want to use ‘ivie’ even more to encourage our audience to explore the entire city on foot – and therefore in a climate-friendly way.”
