New warning of the EMY for the three-day heat wave

    b. In western Sterea and western Peloponnese the maximum temperature will reach 38 to 40 degrees and in Thessaly 41 to 42 degrees with minimum values ​​around 26 to 28 degrees Celsius.
    c. In eastern Sterea and the eastern Peloponnese, the maximum temperature will reach 41 to 42 degrees and in places 43 degrees, while its minimum values ​​will range from 27 to 29 degrees Celsius.
    d. In the island country the maximum temperature value will reach 35 to 37 degrees, in the islands of the eastern Aegean and the Dodecanese 38 to 39 degrees, while locally in Crete it will reach 40 to 42 degrees Celsius. Its minimum values ​​will range from 27 to 29 degrees Celsius.
    e. In Attica, the maximum temperatures will reach 40 to 41 degrees in the interior and 42 degrees Celsius on Thursday, while in the coastal areas they will be 3 to 5 degrees lower.

  • On Friday (14-6-2024) the temperature will drop in the west, the center and the north, but in the rest of the regions it will remain at very high levels, while a change in temperature is expected from the afternoon hours weather in northern Greece with storms that will be accompanied by strong winds.

    It is pointed out that over the weekend throughout the country, the temperature will drop by 6 to 8 degrees and will return to normal levels for the season. At the same time, strong northerly winds will prevail.

    Many schools will remain closed due to the high temperatures that will be recorded in the next few hours due to the heat wave.

    The entire state apparatus is on alert, while for the public sector, according to a circular from the Ministry of the Interior and the Ministry of Climate Change, it is recommended to implement teleworking for public servants who belong to vulnerable groups.

    If this is not possible, due to the nature of their duties, then they can not come to their service by making use of a special permit.

    Civil servants who do not belong to vulnerable groups will also be able to offer their services by teleworking, and where this is not possible flexible arrival and departure times will be implemented.
