House of Science Museum

Its theme is the history of science and paleontology. It contains different rooms in which sciences such as physics, mathematics and astronomy are exhibited. There are also sections on minerals and rocks, national petroleum, fossils and skeletons, universal archaeology and an area dedicated to the railroad. Academic activities are also held there and there are guided tours by experts.

It is located at kilometer 215.5 on the route from Cobán to San Juan Chamelco, Alta Verapaz. The entrance fee is Q20.00 per person but the contribution is one-time, so if you want to visit it again, admission is free. Great! It is open from Tuesday to Saturday from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm

Rabinal Community Museum of Historical Memory

The place exhibits crafts and objects used by the brotherhoods in traditional dances. It also offers visitors information about the historical memory of Rabinalduring the internal armed conflict. You can also find a library, a computer room for students, a theater, music courses, a guide, accessibility for wheelchair users, and the sale of handicrafts. In addition, they carry out academic activities, folkloric celebrations, Mayan ceremonies, events, and festivities.

It is located on 2nd Street and 4th Avenue, Zone 3, Rabinal, Baja Verapaz. To get there, take the street on the right side, in front of the Catholic Church in the central park and it is located approximately 350 meters away. The entrance fee is voluntary and you can visit it from Monday to Friday from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm and from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm.

Historical Museum of Las Verapaces

The theme of this museum is about history, culture, archaeology, customs and traditions. You can find an exhibition of clothing from the region, archaeological pieces, photographs of the
city ​​of Cobán and a numismatic collection. They also offer guided tours and organize academic activities.

It is located on 2nd Street, 2-11, Zone 2, Cobán, Alta Verapaz, office No. 8. Government Palace. Admission is free, so it is an accessible activity for everyone. You can visit it from Monday to Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm and Saturdays from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. If you need more information, you can call 5311-0141.

Museo Katinamit

This museum is about Poqomchí art and culture. It rescues the Poqomchí culture from the historical and ancestral memory. Objects for domestic and work use are exhibited, as well as photographs of different types of housing. This place stands out for its educational approach, offering informative material in both physical and digital format, available to visitors of all ages.

It is located at 0 Calle 0-33, Zone 3, San Sebastián Neighborhood, San Cristóbal Verapaz. Visiting hours are Monday through Friday from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm and from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm. On Saturdays, hours are from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm. The entrance fee is Q10.00 per person and an additional Q10.00 is charged for the guided tour.

El Trapiche Regional Museum

This museum focuses on the history of Fray Bartolomé de Las Casas. The place is considered the first brown sugar mill in Central America and also has a large collection of
pieces of ancient machinery. Highlights include fermentation pots, archaeological remains, pottery and traditional clothing, as well as manuscripts.

The entrance is located at the back of the municipality of San Jerónimo, Baja Verapaz, crossing to the left. The entrance fee is Q10.00 for Guatemalans and Q20.00 for foreigners. The hours you can visit are Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm and on weekends from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm.
