For these reasons and in order to safeguard the physical integrity of tourists, farmers, athletes and other people, the authorities They recommend avoiding ascending the Agua volcano “for no access that San Juan Alotenango has until further notice.”

The team that is working to put out the fire is made up of CONRED, the Humanitarian and Rescue Brigade of the Army, the Municipal Coordinator for Disaster Reduction of Santa María de Jesús, the National Council of Protected Areas (CONAP), the Volunteer and Departmental Firefighters and Municipal Firefighters.
