Instead of keeping them saved, they decided to share them with the community and visitors, creating a space that mixes the educational with the tourist. The collection reflects important aspects of the daily life of the ancient Maya, from ceremonial objects to utilitarian pieces, and seeks to transmit the value of Guatemala’s cultural heritage.
More than a simple museum, this place is presented as a project that seeks to teach and motivate people to value the roots of the region. Each room offers clear information about the context in which the pieces were used and how they are part of the history of the Mayan people.
The experience of the tour

The Mayan Museum Aragon is open to the public on Fridays and Saturdays, from 2:00 to 6:00 in the afternoon. Income prices are Q100 for adults and Q75 for children. It is recommended to plan the visit taking into account these schedules, since the museum does not open during the week.
Access is simple, since it is located inside the Posada La Ermita hotel, at kilometer 221.5 of the Route to Chisec, Cobán.
