OL players won the French championship final on Friday evening against PSG (3-0). It is their 18th title in D1, in 21 participations.

Avoiding the white season is the stake of PSG Friday evening but also and above all that of OL, ogre voracious of women’s football in France and “forced” since last year to go through the play-offs to validate its domination in the first division. The figures further gave it in 2024-2025: 20 victories and 2 draws in 22 days, 92 goals scored, 7 collected. It was not without pressure, however, that the Fenottes tackled their final against PSG at the Enlightenment stadium (the same poster as last year), very recently eliminated by Arsenal (1-2, 1-4) in the semi-finals of the C1 and outings very early by Reims in the French Cup (0-0, Tab: 10-9), from the 16th finals.

To avoid the season, therefore, that he has known only three times since its creation in 2004 (the first two seasons and the year 2021 amputated national cuts during the COVID), OL proposed in front of Paris exactly the same eleven in the semi-final against Dijon (4-1). The Sommer, for his latest match after 15 years in Lyon, was thus established in attack with Diani and Dumornay and his two partners were the most sharp. Diani first wasted what remained the only situation for a very closed first period (4th) for a long time, before Dumornay finally launched this final during additional time.

The wonderful exterior of Heaps

Launched by a magic pass of Heaps, from the outside of the foot, the Haitian rider went to deceive Earps with a nice shot placed on the ground (1-0, 45th+2). Harmless in the first period, the Parisians were also returning to the locker room and they will above all have managed to bother the Lyonnaises thanks to good collective sequences in the pressing. It was therefore necessary to wait for the last ten minutes to see OL pass the second, Diani also finding the path of the nets with the help of the unfortunate Dudek on the counter (2-0, 80th).

At the very end of the meeting, Hurté touched the ball in his hand in its surface, offering the opportunity to Captain Renard to close the mark of a pretty Panenka on a penalty (3-0, 90th+4). With now a 18th title of French champions in pocket (for 21 participations), the Lyonnaises could go to celebrate with their audience the outcome of a sometimes frustrating but ultimately joyful season.
