Lower Austrian pub package triggers 20 million euros in investments

LH Mikl-Leitner: “A boom in applications, extensive investment projects: Our pub package is a success story”

St.Pölten (OTS) The pub package launched at the beginning of the year includes support measures for hosts who want to invest in their existing business or start or take over a new business. After two months, State Governor Johanna Mikl-Leitner takes stock: “We did not expect such a boom in applications. 175 hosts across the country want to modernize and make their businesses more attractive. This means that the majority of the four million euro package has been exhausted. The submitted projects have a funding volume of around 3.5 million euros and would trigger 20 million euros in investments. Our pub package is a success story.”

The aim of the campaign was also to trigger significant investments in order to support the construction industry: Despite a significantly higher minimum investment amount as a funding requirement compared to previous years, after two months there were already significantly more applications than in previous years. State Governor Mikl-Leitner emphasizes: “With this campaign we are hitting the mark, mobilizing regionally broad investments. These investments also provide important impetus for craft and construction businesses, which are particularly important now, in economically challenging times.”

The projects are diverse, for example the redesign of dining rooms, the attractiveness of a large dining room including the installation of large panoramic windows, the conversion of receptions, the renovation of kitchens, or the refurnishing of guest rooms and guest gardens.

“The pub package is a motor for lively gastronomy that also strengthens the community and social coexistence in the communities. It helps to increase the quality of life for the population by offering high-quality dining options and cozy meeting places in the immediate vicinity,” says Mikl-Leitner. In addition, the submissions are well distributed regionally. Most applications, namely 44, came from the Mostviertel destination. 39 applications came from the Danube region and 25 applications came from the Waldviertel region. 20 applications each from the Weinviertel and the Vienna Alps as well as 27 applications from the Vienna Woods destination.
