Gold medalist the day before in the 100m T54, Lea Bayekula easily qualified for the 400m final in her category this Thursday, at the JP Paris 2024. On her favorite distance, the 29-year-old Belgian won the second and final series in 52.25.

This time is far away the best of both series : the Swiss woman Manuela Schaer, victorious in the second series, is second in time, 1 second and 44 hundredths behind Bayekula! The final, which brings together the first 3 of each series and the seventh and eighth times, will take place at 7:35 p.m. Léa Bayekula, who holds the world record for the distance in 50.91, will be aiming for a second gold medal in these Games.

In addition to her victory in the 100m, Léa Bayekula took 5th place in the 800m final, while she was still leading the race 50 meters from the finish.
