The significant increase in global tourism growth in 2024 encourages Indonesian tourists to want to vacation to enjoy tourist destinations abroad.
“From the Klook Travel Pulse survey, for example, it was revealed as many as 91% of Indonesian tourists plan to conduct international tourism in 2025,” said Sarah Wan, General Manager of Klook for Indonesia, Singapore and Malaysia, in Jakarta, Monday (3/3).
The KLOOK Travel Pulse survey conducted in December 2024 through Globalwebindex (GWI), includes a total of 7,000 respondents in 14 countries, including Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore, Malaysia, the Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam, South Korea, Japan, Australia, mainland China, India, Indonesia, and the United States.
According to Sarah, many of Indonesian tourists will spend Eid time with families abroad. From the survey revealed 55% of Indonesian tourists will conduct international tourism in the next 3-6 months, including in the Eid period.
“We see more and more Indonesian citizens who spend the moment of Eid with their families to travel abroad,” he said.
Based on the survey found there were three favorite destinations of Indonesian tourists in 2025 namely Japan, Singapore and South Korea. The favorite destination cities for tourists who want to travel to Japan are Tokyo and Osaka, the two largest cities in Japan.
“Seeing the enthusiasm of Indonesian tourists to travel to Japan, Klook Travel Station will provide a lot of Japanese tourism promotion, including buying 1 free 1 for Universal Studios Japan, 50% discount for all destinations, and 30% for shinkansen tickets once a way,” said Sarah.
In addition, he continued, tourists can immediately choose a seat in Shinkansen with a view of Mount Fuji or have a seating option with large baggage storage.
Then, tourists are also easier to enter the station only with the QR Code scan feature that is directly obtained in the Klook application when purchasing. “These various features are our commitment to provide convenience and happiness in traveling to our consumers,” explained Sarah.
He added that the survey was also found 4 out of 5 tourists had financial limitations in traveling. However, as many as 62% of tourists are willing to spend half of the tourism budget to get experiences such as attractions and tours.
“Therefore, at Klook Travel Station, Klook gives one lucky visitor, in the form of one KLOOK Travel Voucher of Rp10 million to use the winners to travel to any destination. This program can be obtained from 5 to 9 March 2025 at Central Park Mall, Jakarta,” he concluded. (Ant/h-2)
