The rally which took place in calm – only one person was arrested for contempt according to the PP – continued with a wild procession around 6 pm which went to Boulevard Magenta before being blocked by the police without incident, noted an AFP journalist.

“A second procession formed rue du Cairo, the police tried to block them and received projectiles. The police have made use of intermediate defense means,” said the PP.

According to a second AFP journalist, this second procession was made up of around a hundred people and the police notably used tear gas to disperse the small crowd.

Six people were arrested, the authorities said.
