Black Friday flights can suddenly seem really cheap. When additional fees, such as luggage and seat choices, are included, the ticket price may even double.
AirAdvisor, which specializes in compensation for flights and baggage, has published its new comparison of the cheapest European airlines in 2025.
The comparison is based on the RASK metric, which describes the airline’s real revenue per seat and per kilometer flown, taking into account additional fees.
The results may surprise you, as some of the full-service companies are more affordable in terms of total costs than many competitors marketed as low-cost flights.

In comparison, Wizz Air maintained its position as the cheapest airline in Europe. TAP Air Portugal and SAS rank better than many low-cost airlines when comparing total costs. Finnair also ranks among the five cheapest, showing that the total costs of so-called full-service airlines are not always the highest.
On the other hand, Ryanair, which is known as a low-cost airline, comes last in the comparison due to high surcharges.
