The Bernina Wine Express takes railway enthusiasts and wine lovers to the La Gatta winery in Valtellina.

Wien/Chur (OTS) – The Rhaetian Railway’s Bernina Wine Express has been rolling through the Swiss Alps since May 14 to October 25, 2024. On the special trip from St. Moritz to Tirano and back, which can be booked every Tuesday to Friday, railway enthusiasts and culinary lovers experience the impressive nature through the modern panoramic windows of the Bernina Express.

Swiss Alpine panorama meets Italian wine enjoyment

Once you arrive in Tirano, you will be transferred to the Italian winery La Gatta in Valtellina. During an exclusive tour through the picturesque vineyards and the ancient wine cellar, guests will immerse themselves in the history of the former monastery from the 16th century. The unique climatic conditions still offer the best conditions for long-lasting and full-bodied wines, four of which will be tasted. Expert and exciting insights into the development of the typical Valtellina red wines – named after the valley of the same name in Valtellina – accompany the aperitif and culinary specialties that are served to guests at lunch.
