The Regional Government (Pemda) of Sigi Regency, Central Sulawesi, is again holding the 2024 Lindu Lake Festival. The festival will be held for 3 days, from 5 to 7 September 2024. The event began with a traditional welcoming ceremony at the activity location in Tomado Village, Lindu District, on Thursday (5/9) afternoon.

“The guest of honor is welcomed with a dance or To Pe aju,” said the MC when starting the event.

The Lindu Lake Festival is an activity carried out in an effort to promote the beauty of nature and introduce biodiversity, cultural wisdom, and environmental preservation towards green tourism. Therefore, the Sigi Regency Government, Central Sulawesi, carries the concept of ethno-ecology tourism.

Ethno-ecological tourism can be interpreted as an ecological tourism event. Each line of activity is carried out by local ethnic communities that still uphold the values โ€‹โ€‹of cultural wisdom in maintaining, preserving, caring for and preserving their natural ecosystem.

Lake Lindu is one of the amazing natural beauties located in Sigi Regency, as an extraordinary natural resource potential, it is part of the Lore Lindu National Park Biosphere Reserve Area.

Based on this, the Sigi Regency Government has issued Regional Regulation Number 4 of 2019 concerning Green Sigi, as a form of commitment to prioritizing development that continues to consider the principle of environmental sustainability, where the environment is a unified space where humans and elements supporting human life behave and influence each other.

Lindu Lake Festival is a cultural celebration event held on the shores of Lindu Lake, Lindu District, as one of the beautiful and amazing tourist destinations in Sigi Regency.

At this year’s Lindu Lake Festival, more emphasis is placed on the issue of Women and the Environment, where the role of women in the To Lindu community tradition (Kaili Tado ethnic group), women play a key role apart from being mothers, the role of women is believed to be a connecting medium between Humans, Nature and the Creator.

Lake Lindu or the Lindu enclave area is part of the Lore Lindu National Park Biosphere Reserve Area, which covers an area of โ€‹โ€‹34.88 square kilometers with an average depth of 38 meters and is located at an altitude of around 1000 meters above sea level, the Lindu area or Lindu enclave is rich in biodiversity and cultural wisdom.
