Welcoming the 80th Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia, Ascott Jakarta held Ascott Soiree at the Indonesian National Museum (Gajah Museum). This event presents a deep cultural experience for guests as well as a form of appreciation for the history and diversity of the cultural archipelago.
Ascott Jakarta Residence Manager, Christian Lo, said that Ascott Soiree was designed not only as an exclusive program, but also as a bridge to connect guests with the value of togetherness and spirit of the nation’s struggle.
“Living in Ascott Jakarta is not just staying overnight, but also a part of the journey to understand Indonesia,” he said.
The National Museum is the main destination
The National Museum was chosen because it stores historic collections, ranging from the artifacts of the struggle for independence, ancient manuscripts, to ethnographic collections from various ethnic groups. The guests not only enjoy the exhibition, but also received a direct explanation from the guide about the heroic story of the national heroes.
According to Vanessa Velindra, Brand & Marketing Manager of Ascott Jakarta, diversity is the core of this event. “Diversity is not just a story, but an experience that can be felt directly. We want Ascott Soirée to be a platform that brings guests with the beauty of Indonesian culture,” he explained.
Interactive culture experience
In addition to collection exhibitions, guests are invited to participate in interactive activities, including traditional textile exhibitions, handicrafts, regional music, and photo sessions with artificial intelligence technology that displays facial similarities with various tribes in Indonesia.
One of the guests, Tao An, claimed to really enjoy the experience. “I really enjoyed the time to explore this museum and had had a chance to take pictures to capture this special moment,” he said.
Through Ascott Soiree, Ascott Jakarta wants to emphasize that the spirit of independence does not only belong to the past, but also needs to be revived in everyday life. This program is an effort to strengthen the love of the motherland while inviting guests to celebrate differences as wealth that unites the nation.
