An 18 -month -old child died after falling from the 18th floor of a building

A little boy of a year and a half died Monday evening in Marseille after falling from the 18th floor of a building in circumstances that remain to be clarified.

The drama took place shortly after 7:30 p.m. Monday June 23. A child fell from the 18th floor of a building within the Cité de la Solidarité, located in the 15th arrondissement, in the north of Marseille, the firefighters said in France 3 Provence-Alpes.

Supported by the firefighters in cardiorepiratory arrest, the little polutraumatized boy could not be saved despite the attempts at resuscitation. The two -year -old child was declared who died on the spot, said the battalion.

The circumstances of the fatal fall of the Garonnet are not known at this stage. An investigation has been opened, it will have to shed light on what happened.

On Saturday March 8, a two -year -old baby fell from the second floor of a building, in the Villette district, also in the 15ᵉ arrondissement of the city. The child fell from a balcony. He would have gone through the kitchen, would have opened a French window, climbed on a planter before switching to a vacuum. The adults present in the apartment say they have not heard the child move.
