About two weeks after Storm Byron, a new weather system is approaching Israel. The weather service has already given it a name. The storm will be called Cornera.
According to the agreed naming system with Cyprus and Greece, the name is chosen in advance. However, the exact intensity of the storm remains unclear. Meteorological models still differ in their forecasts.
Cornera is expected to enter the country on Friday. Until then, the weather will be stable and relatively comfortable. Then a gradual cooling will begin.
A new wave of precipitation will continue intermittently until the middle of next week. Tens of millimeters of rain may fall in some areas. For the first time this season, snow is possible on Mount Hermon.
Temperatures will begin to drop on Friday. Indicators will be below average for this time of year. This will be especially noticeable in mountainous and inland areas.
As for the amount of precipitation, there is no clarity yet. The final picture will become clear closer to the end of the week. Mild weather will continue for the next two days.
Forecasters do not rule out that this system will last longer than Byron. There is also a chance to see snow in the highlands of the country.
