The renovation works of the Radisson Blu Royal Hotel in Helsinki are nearing completion. The hotel, which has a new look, will open its doors on March 17.

According to the S group, in the year-long project, all of the hotel’s public spaces, event and meeting rooms, and the patio deck were renovated.

The hotel’s event facilities have experienced the biggest change, 13 party and meeting rooms have been given a new look. Hotel manager Mika Virtanen the reservation books are already filling up at a good pace.

– Our international and domestic guests expect one hundred percent smoothness and quality. Our honor is to make sure that all the details are thought out and ready when the guests arrive, says Virtanen in the press release.

Radisson Blu Royal Hotel has seen quite high-ranking guests in the past. Among other things, the former president of the United States Joe Biden stayed at the hotel during his visit to Finland in July 2023.

Extensive security arrangements were seen in the vicinity of the hotel before and during Biden’s visit.

The hotel has several underground entrances. During the visit, Biden’s motorcade drove along Lapinlahdenkatu and turned into the service tunnel, from which there is a connection to the hotel’s parking garage.

Biden’s visit was strongly reflected in Helsinki’s traffic arrangements and street scene. Finns gathered in droves in different parts of the city to follow the ex-president’s movements.

The renewed Radisson Blu Royal will also have a new restaurant. Restaurant Nord offers northern flavors according to the S group.

The menu includes, among other things, traditional salmon soup and classics inspired by the season.

The Royal Bar, which was closed during the renovation, will also reopen on the hotel’s street level. The reservation restaurant Johan serves dinner parties and breakfasts.

The hotel, which opened in 1991, has been renovated in other ways in recent years. Iltalehti reported in 2020 about the renovated rooms of the hotel. The crown of the hotel is the 180-square-meter Presidential Suite.

– The suite is suitable for private events, and its equipment also includes, for example, a sauna with a jacuzzi. There are two bedrooms in the suite, it was described in Iltalehti’s story.

There are a total of eight different suites in the hotel.

Even though the Radisson Blu Royal’s giant suite has plenty of square footage, it is still not the largest of its kind in Finland. Hotel Kämp’s Mannerheim suite is up to 258 square meters in size.

At the time of writing, the prices for Radisson Blu Royal hotel rooms start from about 130 euros and up, depending on the booking site. For example, you can get the cheapest standard room in April for around 130–170 euros per night. However, there is greater variation between days of the week and booking sites.

The prices of the most expensive Presidential Suite also vary, but the price per night is around 2,000–3,000 euros.
