Following the publication of new documents linked to the Epstein affair by the United States, the Paris prosecutor’s office announced this Saturday that it had appointed magistrates to analyze these files, and to see if French nationals are involved in offenses.
Have French nationals committed offenses linked to the Epstein affair? The Paris prosecutor’s office announced this Saturday, February 14, that it had appointed lead magistrates to analyze elements likely to implicate French nationals following the publication by the United States of documents linked to sex criminal Jeffrey Epstein.
Requested by AFP and BFMTV, the prosecution explained that it was working on the exploitation of documents newly released in the United States, “in coordination with the National Financial Prosecutor’s Office and in conjunction with the national direction of the judicial police (…) in order to open investigations”.
The Paris prosecutor’s office also announced that it was carrying out “a complete reanalysis of the investigation file” on the deceased ex-model agent Jean-Luc Brunel, “in order to be able to extract any evidence likely to be usefully re-exploited in a new investigative framework”.
This investigation file was closed by a dismissal because Jean-Luc Brunel died in July 2023.
