the essentials While Castres Olympique lost at the Stade Français this Saturday January 3 (15-33), Tarn manager Xavier Sadourny especially regretted the first 30 minutes of his team. As does its lack of realism.
Are you disappointed with your team’s overall performance?
Especially our first half hour. We lacked precision, we were blocked a little in the rucks. We had difficulty putting speed into our game. I’m disappointed because, throughout the match, we went into the goal three times and we didn’t flatten out. On away matches, you have to be very realistic, even opportunistic. Today (this Saturday, January 3), we missed it.
The CO manager didn’t like the first half hour. DDM – EMILIE CAYRE
You knew that Stade Français rarely gets discovered. Did you feel your players were too cautious to avoid turnovers?
At the moment, we are having trouble getting started. Maybe we played too much in the intermediate zone. There is a sequence where we expose ourselves. But above all, when we break, and it happened six or seven times, we have to score. And then this first half hour, we lack precision through our rucks, our conquest, through lots of small details which mean that at the end, it is 14-0. Although not much happened. They score five tries, I don’t really know how.

Exactly, does the last try scored by the Parisians add frustration?
Exactly. We take a long time to score. We need a lot of footage. They, when taking the initiative, where we are not vigilant, there is an attempt. It’s very well done on their part, but we’re too easy. We have to grow in these phases. It’s easy to control, you should never turn your back on the ball. It’s a good warning for next week and the coming of Bath.

Do you think this lack of realism had a mental impact?
No, because we fought until the end. The players are obviously disappointed because there was better to do. There is frustration, but good frustration. In any case, you have to be a little frustrated, even angry because you could have had something else.
