In Pošumaví or Jesenice, there could be over ten centimeters of powder snow in places.
The remaining holiday days will be sunnier and also freezing, night lows will mostly be around minus five degrees Celsius, afternoon highs around minus two degrees Celsius. This follows from the weekly forecast of the Czech Hydrometeorological Institute (ČHMÚ) and the statements of meteorologists on the X network.
According to meteorologists, cloudy skies with temperatures above zero will prevail today and Tuesdaydrizzle or light rain may occur. On Tuesday evening, the precipitation will gradually change to snow.
“Christmas Day will be accompanied mainly by heavy cloud cover and occasional snowfall in placesespecially in the south of Moravia, it will go below 300 meters above sea level and there will also be rain and snow,” said the ČHMÚ.
He also warns of a stronger north-easterly wind, which in places will reach a speed of around 55 kilometers per hour. The evening will then partially weaken and, according to meteorologists, the remaining holiday days will be calmer and sunnier and also frosty.
After the holidays, sunnier weather should prevail, but low clouds will form in some places, from which it may snow lightly. Morning temperatures will most often range from minus three degrees Celsius to minus eight degrees Celsius, in the afternoon from zero to five degrees, with prolonged cloud cover around minus two degrees Celsius.
