After the shock, time for goodbye. Little brother of anti-drug trafficking activist Amine Kessaci, Mehdi Kessaci was buried this Tuesday afternoon in family privacy in Marseille (Bouches-du-Rhône). A burial in the small cemetery of Saint-Henri (16th arrondissement) whose surroundings were monitored by numerous police officers. The funeral ceremony began shortly before 3 p.m. at the mosque in Frais-Vallon, a huge city in the 13th arrondissement where the Kessaci family came from. A carpet of flowers had also been placed by anonymous people on the Claudie-d’Arcy roundabout where the fatal shooting took place.
The tribute continued in the evening in the 13th arrondissement, at the headquarters of the Conscience association, founded by Amine Kessaci after the death of his big brother, found charred in the trunk of a car in 2020.
